Kommunen tittar på om bygget följer detaljplanen och Plan- och bygglagen (PBL), bland annat byggnadens storlek, höjd, placering och utformning. Den prövar även om ritningarna är kompletta och fackmässiga, exempelvis situationsplan, planritning, fasad- och sektionsritning. Hänsyn tas till omgivningen, tomtgränser och eventuell prickmark. The municipality looks at whether the build follows the detailed plan and the Planning and Building Act (PBL), including the building's size, height, placement and design. It also checks that the drawings are complete and professional, such as the site plan, floor plan and façade and section drawings. Consideration is given to the surroundings, plot boundaries and any non-building land (prickmark).
